Albright Sends Google Voip-Pal Row To California, Keeps Amazon

By Jasmin Jackson (June 10, 2022, 9:16 p.m. EDT) — U.S. District Judge Alan Albright has allowed Google to transfer Voip-Pal’s wireless patent lawsuit against him to Texas in California, but has not granted the same Amazon’s claim in related litigation, determining that the search engine might have difficulty accessing evidence remotely.

The Western District of Texas judge said in a duo of orders — which were unsealed on Wednesday and Friday — that only one of the tech companies can bring separate patent lawsuits against Voip-Pal.com Inc. against them on wireless communication systems in the Northern District of California.
