AMD launches FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 technology

AMD has announced FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.1, the next iteration of AMD’s popular time-scaling technology. FSR 2.1 includes algorithm updates that improve in-game image quality while reducing artifacts such as ghosting or flickering.

Available now as a free download from for game developers, support for FSR 2.1 was added in the latest update of Farming Simulator 2022and will be present in a future update of Hitman 3. Also, AMD’s FSR 2 plugin for Unreal Engine 4.26/4.27 and Unreal Engine 5 has been optimized to support FSR 2.1 and has some additional improvements.

FidelityFX Super Resolution is AMD’s industry-leading time-scaling technology, designed to increase FPS in games that support it while delivering exceptional image quality. Like FSR 1 and 2, FSR 2.1 is fully open source and will run on a wide range of graphics cards, including competitive products.

AMD also announced 11 additional games that already support or will soon have FSR 2, bringing the number of compatible games to 45 in less than four months since the technology was launched. These new titles include Deep Rock Galactic, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Scorn and many others.
