Every year, Rennes is animated by the Main Festival, designed as a cabinet of curiosities combining arts, music and new technologies. Over four days – from October 6 to 9 – the event will offer a selection of daytime and evening activities including digital installation tours, conferences, exhibitions and sound experiences.
On occasion, an old 12th century church will host DJ sets and live from Sherelle who will honor the UK rave culture between Jungle, Drum’n’Bass, Juke and Footwork; rising UK techno producer Objekt; by Dutch duo Animistic Beliefs NL. We can also count the presence of the composer Alexis Lumière for a live performance; de Pö, – member of the Nyege Nyege collective – for a set where kuduro, gqom, bouyon and singeli will merge; ethnomusicologist Judgitzu and many others. Organized by the Electroni Association[k]the Main Festival is open to an audience of all ages and admission is free.
