Founded in 2006 in Castelnau-le-Lez, Simax is a pioneer of no-code technology

Founded in 2006 by Miren Lafourcade and Jérôme Olivares, this innovative company offers its clients new management solutions. It develops in France but also in North America and Africa.

On Rue Romani, in the heart of the Sablas district of Castelnau-le-Lez, an impressive calm reigns both day and night. A stone’s throw from a small parking lot and a tram stop, this neighborhood is particularly attractive. It not only welcomes privileged Castelnauviens, but also a highly modern society.

Miren Lafourcade and Jérôme Olivares founded the Simax company behind the walls of a residential building: “We want our employees to feel at home at work, so we provide them with a kitchen, a shower and a swimming pool where we can organize barbecues in the summer.”says Miren Lafourcade, Managing Director.

A management software of great agility

This management is accompanied by real economic successes. Simax was founded in 2006 and has developed from a pioneer to the world market leader for no-code ERP-CRM: “No-code means don’t code, don’t program. This technology provides enterprise management solutions using a system that looks like management software, which is very easy to change and very agile. It enables companies to digitize at a lower cost and adapt quickly as necessary. During the Covid years we have been able to measure how responsiveness is a factor of resilience.”.

The no-code technology seduces. In 16 years it has been used by large groups such as BpiFRance, Pierre Fabre Laboratories, the Terrana Group or the Chêne Vert Group: “We also equip smaller companies with Simax Starter”says Miren Lafourcade.

On his initiative, the Simax software was born: “Computer engineer, I had my first job at local company PC Soft. I saw that the most interesting thing was what we could do without programming. I then asked the question, isn’t it possible to do everything without programming? Everyone said no except my future partner. He assured that this is possible as long as the software is very intelligent and has artificial intelligence. That’s how we started.”explains Miren Lafourcade.

Business leaders who are very attached to the region

Sixteen years later and after a prize won in a competition organized by the Ministry of Research, Miren Lafourcade and Jérôme Olivares have 25 collaborators in France and 49 worldwide. A dozen of them work at the headquarters in Castelnau-le-Lez: “We feel very connected to the region, which is an interesting breeding ground for technology companies. We are happy there and want to stay there as long as possible.”

With Simax, Castelnau-le-Lez has a real nugget.

An ambitious recruitment policy

The forecasts of the various specialists about the medium-term development of no-code technology leave no doubt about its future. “In 2025 it will be 70%”, says Miren Lafourcade. These figures open up very interesting perspectives for the managers of the Simax company: “We are driven by very strong growth and are looking for new partners to spread our knowledge worldwide. We are also considering a capital increase.”, underlines Miren Lafourcade. At the same time, the CEO announced an ambitious hiring policy: “We recruit with all our might”, She says. It does not exclude any profile: “For example, we’re not into youthfulness, we’ve just hired our 55-year-old marketing manager“.
