Miami Dade College Approves Data Analytics Diploma Credits for Program Graduates, Integrates Google Certificate into Curriculum

MIAMI, June 13, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) students and professionals who successfully complete Google’s tests Data Analysis Certificate are now eligible for 12 college credits toward a bachelor’s degree in data analytics from MDC. In addition, MDC integrates the Google Data Analytics certificate into bachelor’s degree courses.

The Google Data Analytics certificate is offered by Coursera. The program includes over 180 hours of instruction and hundreds of practice-based assessments, which help students simulate real-world data analysis scenarios that are essential for workplace success. The content is highly interactive and exclusively developed by Google employees with decades of experience in data analysis. Through a mix of videos, assessments, and hands-on labs, students are introduced to analytics tools and platforms and key analytical skills required for entry-level employment.

Holders of the Google Data Analytics certificate will be eligible to receive credits from the following courses after enrolling in the Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics program at MDC:

  • CAP 1788 – Introduction to data analysis (4 credits)
  • CAP 4936 – Special Topics in Data Analysis (8 credits)

On the other hand, students enrolled in the bachelor program will have the opportunity to complete the Google Data Analytics certificate free of charge within the framework of the 3 courses listed above.
