Inputi is an online marketplace, aggregator and distributor of agricultural inputs. Through versatile digital platforms, Inputi provides quality agricultural and livestock inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides to 1,000 rural agro-shops, 20 dairy cooperatives and 12 meat cooperatives, sending them directly to buyers or agro-shops and regional veterinarians at a fixed transport cost. Inputi predicts 50% growth over the next year. And with investment from Renew Capital, it hopes to profile and bring together input dealers, farmers and farmer groups to provide business linkages with financial institutions and insurance companies.

“We cannot eliminate hunger caused by climate change, but we can alleviate it by improving food distribution systems,” said Inputi CEO David Lukwago. “The private sector plays a vital role in establishing efficient, effective and sustainable means of transporting food rations from place to place where they are needed. »

For his part, JC Oelofse, Head of Shared Growth Services at Renew Capital said, “We are excited about the complete value chain connectivity solution that Inputi is creating for farmers and ranchers. This solution provides agricultural inputs to the farmer at an affordable cost while providing farmer-centric training to create a thriving agricultural ecosystem in a sustainable manner.”
