The Islamo-conservative government now wants to use facial recognition to identify women who break the rules of dress. Are particularly targeted those who do not wear the hijab, that is to say the outfit that covers the whole body with the exception of the face and hands. Since the arrival of President Ebrahim Raïssi in power in August 2021, the authorities have taken an even more rigorous turn, imposing, in particular by a decree issued last month, new measures to control the dress of women. From now on, cameras will be installed in places and public transport and offenders will be identified and arrested. It is advanced technology at the service of barbarism.
