Poolsquad UV from Pool Technologie, environmentally friendly disinfection

For more than 30 years, Pool Technologie has been simplifying pool treatment. Thanks to a regular investment in Research and Development, the manufacturer offers an offer at the cutting edge of technology, but also eco-responsible and sustainable.

Evolution of the reactor for even more efficiency and ease of use

Aware of tougher regulations, the company launched the Hybrid UV/Ultra Low Salt range in 2021.® . Two technologies – ultraviolet sterilization and ULS® salt electrolysis – were made to meet. Wishing to provide a solution that is even more respectful of the environment, the company is developing its offer.

This equipment consists of an electronic box and a one-piece UV reactor. The latter contains an Ultra Low Salt electrode®, for the remanence by electrolysis of the salt and a UV lamp, for the disinfection of the water by ultraviolet rays. The lamp emits UV-C rays, reproducing the natural phenomenon of ultraviolet radiation inside a room. On an emitted wavelength of 254 nm and with a high germicidal power, the rays therefore make it possible to instantly eliminate bacteria, fungi and viruses, by penetrating into the heart of the cells of micro-organisms to eliminate them.

Ultra Low Salt technology® requires a quantity of 0.5 g/l of salt to ensure the persistence of water disinfection, i.e. 7 to 10 times less than standard electrolysis. Thanks to the direct current that passes through the electrodes and the chemical reactions that take place, the water remains disinfected and disinfectant. The requirements of disinfection that respect the environment are respected: limit the quantity of salt present in the swimming pool as much as possible and produce the strict minimum of chlorine necessary for the persistence of disinfection.

For the 2023 season, the manufacturer has redesigned the central organ of the device: its reactor. Many mechanical innovations have been made to make it an even more efficient and easy-to-use solution.

The positions of the UV lamp and the ULS electrode® have been reversed to limit the destruction of chlorine by UV rays. This arrangement facilitates the maintenance of each component of the reactor, and in particular that of the electrode which can be removed for visual inspection without emptying the reactor. Likewise, the visualization of the status of the lamp is facilitated by the new skylight created. Its replacement is also facilitated by the reactor drain valve. The latter is fitted with fittings that are directly compatible with 50 or 63 mm pipe standards, for easy installation by the professional. Self-supporting, the reactor can also be sealed to the ground thanks to the pre-drilling of its foot.

Another novelty: the new mode of operation of the software. Initially, the adjustment was made in percentage (UV/electrolysis ratio). From now on, the setting is made by UV/electrolysis time slots. These have a minimum daily duration ensuring the treatment: 15 minutes for UV and 4 hours for electrolysis. The safety aspect has also been improved, with a flow sensor, supplied as standard, integrated into the outlet of the reactor. Thus, in the event of a lack of water in the reactor, the flow rate alarm automatically switches off the device after a few minutes, preserving the UV lamp.

Two reactor models are available, depending on the pool volume to be treated (50 and 100 m3).

Finally, for 2023, amperometric regulation and ORP control will be available on the Poolsquad UV model, in order to regulate chlorine production according to pool needs. Device retains Bluetooth connectivity®with manufacturer’s app, e-Pool®. As an option, it is possible to control the entire technical room (filtration, water treatment, auxiliaries, etc.) thanks to the e-Pool connected swimming pool kit® Connect.

The new UV reactor that will equip Justsalt® UV and Poolsquad® UV will be previewed at Piscine Global Europe in Lyon, on the Pool Technologie stand.
