Road safety: equipped with 3D technology, the new radar deployed in France promises to be formidable

The Parifex Nano has just been approved by the National Metrology and Testing Laboratory (LNE). This new generation radar will therefore be able to be deployed on the roads in France.

The new weapon to control motorists will use a laser technology called LiDAR 3D. “The Nano sensor measures speed using a set of scanning lasers that model space in three dimensions by identifying various objects in the environment and in particular vehicles and their trajectories over nearly a hundred meters”specifies the site

A new automatic speed camera, the Parifex Nano, has just been approved for controlling speed in double-sided speed cameras. But he could soon verbalize other offenses …

In other words, as this new radar has state-of-the-art technology, it can calculate the speed, identify the different types of vehicles to flash them at different speeds and identify those in violation. In any case, that is his mission, for the moment. The approval granted to him relates only to these offences. But in the near future, he will presumably be able to do much more.

Because the Parifex Nano has more than one trick up its sleeve to trap bad drivers. And he could very well in a second time sanction the non-respect of the safety distances, the traffic in the wrong direction, the non-respect of the stop sign, or the crossing of the white line, for example.

“We are very proud to be the first to offer a radar with a 3D LiDAR sensor. This official recognition crowns more than six years of research”rejoices Franck Peyré, president of Parifex, in a press release published Thursday, May 19.
