Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Demand for IT personnel continues to soar amid a growing need for recruitment seen across many sectors serving business recovery and growth post-pandemic, according to a Q2 Vietnamese labor market report by payroll and recruitment outsourcing agency Andeco Vietnam.

Digital transformation, big data, cloud computing and Internet of Things trends not only provide many local opportunities for Vietnamese IT personnel, but also open up remote opportunities in overseas companies and projects, according to Nguyên Thu Ha, director of Adecco’s office in Hanoi.

Therefore, although many companies offer attractive compensation and bonus schemes, they still have to put all their effort into recruiting highly specialized candidates.

She also noted that the demand for labor in manufacturing enterprises, such as electronics, textiles and chemicals, has increased significantly this year and is expected to increase thereafter.

Nguyên Thu Ha explained that for the past few years, we have benefited greatly from a wave of production relocation and signed free trade agreements with the EU, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

In addition to manufacturing and technology-related companies, those in food and beverage services, consumer electronics and energy are also showing strong hiring demands.

Dang Thi Thai Hoa, associate director of recruitment activity at Adecco Ho Chi Minh City, meanwhile noticed a labor shortage in the financial services and insurance sectors.

She said the stock market has fluctuated dramatically in recent months, leading employees to resign for more stable and promising industries. According to her, the number of candidates specialized in these industries is insufficient compared to the need for continuous recruitment.

Andeco found that many companies are now taking advantage of online and physical interviews to increase recruitment efficiency and attract tech-savvy candidates.

For high-volume or mid-level vacancies, early rounds can be completed using online platforms. Some companies also prepare additional candidate assessments to quickly screen large numbers of resumes, Dang Thi Thai Hoa said.

The best-suited candidates will then join the physical interviews, which is one of the last phases of hiring. Companies, on the other hand, continue to favor face-to-face meetings from the outset for leadership positions, she added.

Lê Nguyên Ngoc Thanh, Director of Adecco Vietnam, said the uncertainty induced by Covid-19 and recent inflation have made employees more cautious with work culture, additional wellness support, career path career and salary increase.

They are also showing greater interest in the hybrid working model, she said, adding that it will be a challenge for the manufacturing and retail sectors, but more feasible for the service and service industries. technology. – VNA
