Athletes Hervé and Sibylle Phelippeau have opened their own gym valves (Morbihan). Oh gravity includes a gym and fitness room, a thermal training room, a wellness area with balneotherapy (double hot and cold water pools) and a sauna. The players of the RCV, a former Stade Rennais and the athletics hope Julia Chérot have chosen this place equipped with high-tech equipment. Discovery.

performance and well-being

The couple played at a high level: Hervé it is In 1989 he became European indoor champion over 1,500 m in The Hague (Netherlands) and Sibylle was selected for the French team and is 11 times Morbihan cross country champion. In September 2021, in search of performance and well-being, they opened their gym: O’Gravity. The name refers to a Treadmill for running “in zero gravity with less gravity”. An ideal tool for rehabilitation. The RC Vannes club is not mistaken and regularly sends its players.

Sauna and cold bath

The idea of a room sprouts in Hervé’s mindFall 2018 : He discovered the Wim Hof method in a book emphasizing regular exposure to cold associated with breath control. “This method strengthens the immune system and increases the metabolism of the human body.”

The place contains a spa area. “We have a hot pool with a temperature of 35°C and a cold pool with a temperature of 10°C. Members can alternate between hot and cold,” explains the manager. In elite athletes, this improves recovery. It also lets you sleep better and have less stress. Former Stade Rennais Georginio Rutter came to try this protocol.

Thermotherapy with a thermo training room

In the room there is a strange room: the thermal training room (see first picture). As with thermotherapy, you can use it to get back in shape, improve your performance, or even prepare for a competition in a hot country. The PSG club has the same model.

The athlete is in a cabin heated between 37 and 42°C. “Infrared radiation does not dry out the air. This avoids irritation of the airways and keeps the blood oxygenated,” says O’Gravity.

Personalized training sessions

The gym has one fifty subscribers and about forty subscribers to yoga. Each new member goes through the balance box, which allows for a body analysis and the creation of a morphological balance sheet. Then a customized training program is prepared. “We’re not just talking about high performance here. There is also a fitness center for everyone. We even have a lady over 80 years old,” brushes Hervé Phelippeau.
