Last Tuesday, a construction site digger had inadvertently cut Orange’s underground fiber optic cables.

In Valbonne and Roquefort-les-Pins, 2,300 households, subscribers to Orange but also to other operators, had been deprived of Internet network and landline telephone. There were still 600 coupes left on Friday. Until a gradual return to service this weekend… Not for everyone!

About fifty families residing in Roquefort, in the Cœur les Pins, Beaume Granet or Hameau des Claps districts, are still in forced disconnection mode.

Like Sandrine, on the side of the Notre-Dame road, who cannot find a way out of the breakdown. “I am a tax specialist, my husband an architect. We work from home. I have to go to a web café in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. We depend on a technical cabinet from Orange, but we are SFR subscribers, which sends us back to Orange, of which we are not customers. We are going crazy…”

Contacted, the management of Orange is categorical: “All the work incumbent on Orange to make the access of the customers of the various operators work, is now finished. It is up to each customer to contact his operator so that he can do what is necessary.”

Also requested, the management of SFR was not able to respond to us on Monday.
